Holidays Part 3!

Christmas Eve afternoon, Ethan and I loaded up the Xterra and headed north!

Our first stop was at Ethan's grandparents to say hello and meet their new dog! After which, we had an unexpected stop on the side of the freeway thanks to our lovely fuel pump. After a scenic tow to Perry, we finally arrived at the Bracken house!

Christmas Eve is one of my favorite evenings at the Bracken's. Delicious food, lots of family, and of course the Christmas Eve program. Once the program ended, the boys headed to the basement for Halo and the girls waited upstairs by the fire and tree for Santa.

Christmas morning we found Santa came, and Jessica was in present overload. Following the present frenzy, Jessica got right to work opening every gift and starting to play with each one... for about a minute before moving to the next... She dressed herself in new clothes, we played princesses in the tent and blew bubbles outside.

Finally it was time for Lexi to Skype!
Everyone was able to have some time talking with Lexi, including her dog Chica!

Christmas afternoon was spent with Ethan's family. We spent the evening back in Perry playing Killer Bunnies!

It was sort of a drag heading back to work the day after Christmas... good thing it was a short week. Friday evening Ethan and I found some used skis in Salt Lake and jumped on the deal! We also hit up Temple Square/ City Creek with our friends Mikey and Betsy that are here from Georgia. My feet were very happy in my new snow boots!

Saturday morning started at the Temple.

Then it was onto our next adventure with Mikey and Betsy.

Brighton Resort for an afternoon of Skiing (Ethan and me) and Boarding (Mikey and Betsy.)
It was a beautiful day with lots of beautiful snow. I am still relearning to ski but I was digging it for sure! I think Ethan was wishing he was on his board... We stopped for a burger and coke midway through the day. It was also great to warm up!

Heading out of the canyon was extra fun!

We had a delightful week! We are looking forward to another week of holidays, family, friends, fun, and hopefully some skiing!

  1. That's the way to spend Christmas--good food, family, Temple Square, and skiiing!

Glad it was a good one; how are you doing back to work now??
